Dr. Armando Navarro-Vazquez gave a webinar about conformational deconvolution in NMR using the StereoFitter plugin on Wednesday the 8th of June.
Resolution of structural problems in liquid-state NMR, as assignment of relative configuration, requires in many cases a detailed knowledge of the conformational space of the molecule in solution. Determination of this conformational space can be done by a deconvolution (NAMFIS approach) of the NMR observables. In this webinar we will describe the foundations of StereoFitter the new MestReLab solution to the conformational deconvolution problem.
He obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2001. In this year he joined the group of Prof. J. Sardina in Compostela and later he continued his post-doc studies in the University of Giessen (Germany) under the mentoring of professor Peter Schreiner. Then, he worked in the University of Santiago de Compostela (2007-2009) and the University of Vigo (2009-2014) as independent researcher.
In 2014 he worked in the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology as visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Burkhard Luy and later in this year he joined the Federal University of Pernambuco as visiting professor.
His scientific interest is oriented to the methodological development and application of NMR in the structural determination of organic molecules with emphasis in the use of aligned media NMR as well as in software development and application of computational chemistry to problems in structure and reactivity in organic chemistry.
