Mestrelab Research:Chemistry Software for NMR and LC GC MS

.

10/05/2013. Mnova 8.1.2 has been released. Download it and do check our new qNMR plugin

Mnova DB

Overview

A new concept for the shared storage of molecules, NMR and LC/GC/MS analytical data and other Mnova objects

With Mnova DB you can store your analytical data for future searching in a database which is fully integrated with Mnova.

Save records to the database with a couple of clicks and run searches in many different ways: by structure or substructure, specific peak position, multiplets… Finally, browse those reports in several formats, well plates, record view… Job done!

New since version 7.1.2: One Click installer for the Mnova DB Server

We have prepared a very short video explaining how Mnova DB can be useful to you.

Imagine you have a 1D NMR spectrum; you can search for a few peaks you are interested in, and find any other spectra with similar peaks!

Frequently Asked Questions about Mnova DB

What is Mnova DB?

A way to store your (or your team's) analytical data for future searches in a database which is fully integrated with Mnova.

Is Mnova DB just a framework or does it include actual analytical records?

Mnova is a DB totally integrated with Mnova which will allow you to save records and used with our scripting capabilities optimize and automate your workflows

Intuitive database creation and set up

Any number of databases can be simply created by adding the predefined groups of fields included in the installation; as well as any other custom field needed at the user's organization. It's a really simple procedure and can be done in a few minutes from the graphical user interface.

How easy is it to save data to the Spectral DB whilst I am working data up in Mnova?

You can save records to the Database with a couple of clicks while working on your data. Mnova DB will auto search for duplicated records when trying to save a new one and will ask you what exact information you want to save from the document.

How can I search and find items in the DB?

Any user connected to the DB will be able to carry out searches in several different ways such as molecular structure or substructure, specific peak positions, multiplets, etc. For every search you get a hitlist, with results ranked by how good the match is. Once you accept a hit list, you will be able to browse the results in different views (well plates, record view, etc.) and jump back from them to the specific objects to edit them.

Can we integrate Mnova with our own registration / internal systems?

Yes; Mnova can be integrated with your registration systems, screening libraries, and other reporting applications or management systems.

Do we need to set up a server?

Yes, but since version 7.1.2 you can do it with a 'One Click Installation'. Please have a look at the 'Quick Start Guide to install Mnova DB Server' and see the detailed instructions to find out more.

Is the Spectral DB free and included with Mnova?

Mnova DB is a Mnova plugin which needs its own license, please visit our store to find out more.

Do you provide content or just the Database environment?

At this stage, we are providing a databasing tool for you to store the data you generate through your work, with the exception of the NIST GCMS database, which is available for license from Mestrelab and can be included in our DB. In future, we plan to add more contents both from public domain (free content) and other providers.

What happens with the legacy data I have accumulated over the years?

Mnova Spectral DB comes together with a set of automation tools which will allow you to easily import your legacy data, as long as you still have it in any disk, into the DB. Processing and analysis such as peak picking and multiplet analysis can be carried out automatically as part of the process, to allow those parameters to be searched in future.

What happens if I want different users to have different access to the data?

You will have the ability to set up each user with different access roles (Admin, Power User, Normal User, etc.) for each individual server.
