Business Development Manager – Japan

What we are looking for

A candidate to work in our growing Business Development team to develop our market penetration in the Analytical Sciences (NMR, MS, Electronic and Vibrational Spectroscopies) in Japan. 

We encourage applications from individuals who would like to progress within a dynamic company and who enjoy working both independently and as part of a global team. Ideal candidates have a background in the Life Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical/Chemical Industry, or Analytical Instrumentation. 

A working and practical knowledge of  MS, NMR, Vibrational Spectroscopy, and prior  experience in sales are highly desirable, though not essential. 

You will be customer-driven, attentive to detail, and able to manage your time effectively.

  • Work and travel – you will travel on company business in Japan with some international travel.  You should expect travel to take up around 25% of your working time.

Mestrelab Research SL develops scientific software, which is sold globally to a range of industries, including pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, governmental, and academic institutions. 

 

Your responsibilities

Supporting Mestrelab Business Devleopment, you are responsible for interacting with customers and prospective customers of the company for the purposes of:

  • Presenting the company’s product range, its capabilities and adequacy to the needs of the customers.
  • Represent and sell the Company’s products.
  • Holding meetings with customers, face to face, online and by telephone, to present the company’s products. Take all steps conducive to the adoption of the company’s products by prospective customers.
  • Coordinate the strategy of your list of key accounts with other account managers in accordance with the guidance of the company’s management
  • Upkeeping and updating the company’s Customer Relationship Management system with details of customers and customer interactions, as is common practice in the company.
  • Participation in conferences, exhibitions and other commercial events in which Mestrelab participates in the territories of USA & Canada.
  • Assisting customers with the development of proficiency in the use of Mestrelab’s products and with the integration of the said products in their organizational workflows.
  • Creating a pipeline, growing it and maintaining it aligned with the allocated targets.
  • Proposing to his manager commercial strategies and marketing adjustments to improve Japanese market penetration.
  • Promoting other SciY products and solution when appropriate and provide support to other SciY colleagues for joined opportunities.

You will be provided with any relevant training, on a continuous basis, with regard to the solutions you will help to promote and commercialize.

Travel requirements involve visiting customers onsite, attending relevant scientific meetings, and occasionally meeting up with the Mestrelab team at its headquarters in Spain.
