Dr. Jose Antonio Garcia was born in Ourense in 1979. He started his studies in the University of Vigo in 2001 and in parallel, began his career working as a system engineer . Subsequently, he moved to the Open University of Catalunya (UOC) where he achieved both his BSc and an MSc, both in Computer Science. Three years later, he also earned an MSc in Control Systems Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and The National Distance Education University (UNED). He has worked in several large, multinational companies such as Indra and SICE and also worked for big organizations including the Galician Government (Xunta of Galicia), and the Ministry of Environment. He joined Mestrelab in January 2015 to start working on scripting, automation and integration projects.

In 2019 he earned his Ph.D. in Automation Control and Robotics Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and The National Distance Education University (UNED). With a thesis entitled “Recognition of a landing platform for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles by using Computer Vision-based techniques”.
